Pricing and Specification Confirmed for New Toyota RAV4 PHEV

Toyota has confirmed the pricing and trim structure for its all-new sixth generation Toyota RAV4 family SUV, which will be available exclusively as a plug-in hybrid (PHEV).

The RAV4 – which ranked as the world’s best-selling passenger vehicle in 2025 – comes with Toyota’s latest PHEV technology, which can travel up to 85-miles on electric power alone (WLTP).

Four trim levels will be offered on UK-specification RAV4s – Icon, Design, Excel and GR Sport – with order books at Vertu Toyota dealerships to open in May.

All models come with a 2.5-litre petrol engine mated to a CVT automatic transmission, which is then combined with a 22.7kWh battery. There are then variations on the power output – either 272bhp for Icon, Design and Excel models, or 300bhp for the flagship GR Sport.

Icon and Design models come as front-wheel drive as standard, while there is a choice of either front-wheel drive or all-wheel drive for Excel trims. The upper end GR Sport comes only as all-wheel drive.

UK prices for the Toyota RAV4 start at £43,845 for the Icon FWD model, with kit that includes 18-inch alloy wheels, heated front seats/steering wheel, power back door and a Blind Spot Monitor.

Upgrade to the Design trim and you get 20-inch black alloy wheels and a bi-tone exterior paint finish, plus power/heated/ventilated front seats and a wireless phone charger.

The Toyota RAV4 Excel gets premium 20-inch machined/black alloy wheels, leather upholstery, heads-up display and a JBL audio system.

The Toyota RAV4 GR Sport, meanwhile, comes with motorsport-influenced styling and equipment details, such as lightweight 20-inch alloy wheels, a tuned chassis and suspension, plus GR-dedicated elements on the front grille, steering wheel and front seats.

The latest generation Toyota RAV4 PHEV joins the particularly competitive family SUV segment, a class that has received a boost by the recent uptake in interest for plug-in hybrids.

Rivals for the Toyota RAV4 PHEV include the Honda CR-V PHEV, the Skoda Kodiaq PHEV and BYD Seal U DM-i.
