The Volkswagen Tiguan is one of Europe s favourite SUVs, as more than six million models have been sold since it was launched in 2007.

Thanks to the latest range of driver, safety and infotainment systems on board, it s no wonder the new Tiguan is set to be incredibly popular too.

As part of a major mid-life refresh for the Tiguan, Volkswagen have also announced that a new 316bhp R range-topper and a plug-in hybrid powertrain will join the new line-up.

Ahead of it reaching our showrooms later this season, discover why we re in love with the all-new Volkswagen Tiguan...

Strong yet elegant design

The all-new Volkswagen Tiguan looks bold and confident on the road and on your driveway.

Its strong SUV stance is eye-catching. At night the Tiguan s new LED lights provide clear visibility and great vision of your surroundings - even in thick fog.

Low power consumption and a long service life are further advantages of the Tiguan s new LEDs; it s a design feature that makes the new Volkswagen Tiguan truly unique.

Peaceful interior

The optional large panoramic sliding/tilting glass roof creates a really nice interior ambience, allowing the Tiguan s passengers to watch the clouds rolling past above. The front section of the glass can even be opened, raised and lowered electrically, to let the outside in when it s a nice day.

Inside the all-new Volkswagen Tiguan, ambient lighting creates a unique mood and atmosphere to suit whatever you feel.

Embedded LED lights highlight features such as the door handles, decorative dashboard inlays and door sill trims as well as the footwell, so that after a long, busy day you can just sit back, relax and enjoy the drive.

The screen also displays the time as 8:34 and options such as 'Neuer Nutzer', 'Setup', and home and menu buttons. Below the touchscreen is the climate control panel set to 20.0 degrees Celsius. This modern car interior highlights features relevant to both used cars and new cars buyers.

Great technology

The new Tiguan comes with a state-of-the-art infotainment centre, so that the driver can stay connected and entertained during every journey.

Thanks to Car-Net App-Connect , your smartphone, your music, your messages, the internet, and selected apps are available at your fingertips. It combines the functionality of Apple CarPlay or Google Android Auto with MirrorLink , allowing mirroring of your smartphone display on the infotainment touchscreen.

It s never been easier to stay in touch on-the-go.

Additionally, for real music lovers, the impressive new optional sound system from Harman Kardon offers sophisticated sound and a refined, elegant design. The new Tiguan can now offer you the ultimate immersive driving experience.

Fantastic safety and driver assistance

The Volkswagen Tiguan has always come with a five-star NCAP Euro Safety rating; the latest Tiguan is set to be no different.

The all-new Tiguan is designed to fully look after you and your passengers - it comes with a host of active safety features, including the new Travel Assist, to protect you and automatically avoid dangers if possible.

Lane Assist, for example, can determine whether the vehicle is inadvertently crossing a lane marking, from a speed of 40 mph. Once activated and within the limits of the system, it responds by actively intervening and keeping the vehicle in lane.

Three Volkswagen cars, including a blue Volkswagen Tiguan at the front, driving on a multi-lane road entering a tunnel with a concrete wall on the right. The blue Tiguan has a visible license plate reading 'WOB TI 310'. Overhead electronic signs display a speed limit of 60 with one green arrow and one red cross above the left lanes. The road features blue and yellow markings on the middle lane. The image represents modern vehicles that could be used or new cars.

Also, the optional Emergency Assist* system intervenes in a medical emergency when it detects that the driver is no longer active, and attempts to reactivate them.** If this is not successful, it brings the vehicle to a controlled standstill within the limits of the system and can thus also possibly prevent an accident.

It s road-trip ready

The new Volkswagen Tiguan makes loading up for a weekend mini-break effortless.

With the Tiguan s Easy Open feature, a relaxing trip starts even before you set off. Stow heavy items in the luggage compartment without searching for the key: a small movement of the foot under the back of the vehicle is all it takes to open the tailgate.

Inside the spacious car boot, there is a dark blue backpack. The scene is set on a street with a red and grey wall in the background. The image conveys the practicality of used cars or new cars with ample storage space.

Now towing is easy too - the optional Trailer Assist feature makes parking a breeze. Just set the required angle and new Tiguan will reverse perfectly while you operate the accelerator and brake - all you have to do is guide it in place!
