What are the best used cars to drive in Barnstaple?

For regular trips on the A361:

A hybrid car can suit a routine that combines Barnstaple driving with longer runs on the A361 towards the M5. It can use less fuel when traffic slows around the town's main junctions, then remain efficient once the road opens up. Check that the driver's seat supports you comfortably if this is part of your regular week.

For town-centre parking:

A compact hatchback is easier to place in busy town-centre car parks such as Cattle Market. During a low-speed manoeuvre there, check whether you can judge the bay edges and the space behind the car clearly through the mirrors, camera, or sensors.

For trips across North Devon:

If the A39 is part of your usual route, look for a car that stays settled and quiet at higher speeds. Cruise control can reduce the effort of longer stretches, while clear visibility helps when joining busier roundabouts.
