New Kia EV3 Deals

Overview of the Kia EV3

The Kia EV3 is a compact electric SUV built to settle the question that keeps many drivers on petrol: will an electric car really go far enough? In Long Range form it travels up to 375 miles on a combined WLTP charge.

On What Car?'s figures, that puts it ahead of rivals such as the Hyundai Kona Electric, Volvo EX30 and Mini Aceman on paper.

That range comes from a choice of two lithium-ion batteries. The 58.3kWh Standard Range covers up to 270 miles, while the 81.4kWh Long Range stretches to 375. Both drive the front wheels through a single 150kW (201bhp) permanent magnet synchronous motor, with 283Nm of torque and a single-speed automatic.

Choice continues through the line-up. Three grades make up the core range, Air, GT-Line and GT-Line S, with a GT-Line S Heat Pump derivative added for colder-weather efficiency. Air is the only grade offered with either battery, while GT-Line and GT-Line S come exclusively with the Long Range pack.

Which one suits you depends on your week. A driver whose commute and errands rarely top 200 miles between charges will find the Standard Range Air more than enough, and it happens to be What Car?'s pick of the range. Anyone regularly covering longer distances will want the Long Range battery, where GT-Line is the trim What Car? recommends for those needs.

Want to see how it looks and drives before you order? Our Kia EV3 review sits above, walking through the cabin, the technology and the range on offer.

New Kia EV3 Interior

Inside, the Kia EV3 pairs a genuinely usable cabin with the widescreen technology from Kia's larger electric SUVs. Two 12.3-inch displays, one for driving information and one for infotainment, sit alongside a separate 5.3-inch climate screen for a clean, connected dashboard.

Below those screens, physical buttons handle temperature and fan speed. It sounds like a small thing, but it means you adjust the cabin without diving into a menu, an advantage over rivals that bury climate control in the touchscreen alone.

Comfort is well covered from the start. Heated front seats and a heated steering wheel feature across the range, while GT-Line S adds ventilated front seats, heated outer rear seats and premium relaxation front seats. Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto come as standard, with wireless phone charging from GT-Line and an eight-speaker Harman Kardon system on GT-Line S.

Practicality is a strength across the range, and the Air interior is no exception. You get a 460-litre boot, extended by 60:40 split-folding rear seats, plus a 25-litre frunk under the bonnet that neatly swallows the charging cables. A flat floor frees up foot space for whoever draws the middle rear seat.

New Kia EV3 Exterior

The Kia EV3 wears Kia's Opposites United design language, with vertical Star Map LED lighting front and rear that makes it instantly recognisable on the road. At 4,310mm long and 1,850mm wide, it stays compact enough for tight urban parking.

That footprint is dressed differently by trim. Air rides on 17-inch alloy wheels with body-coloured detailing, while GT-Line and GT-Line S switch to 19-inch alloys with gloss black wheel arches, side sills, beltline and window surround for a sharper, sportier stance.

Higher grades add the finishing touches. GT-Line brings automatic flush door handles and a dynamic welcome light, while GT-Line S layers on privacy glass and a tilting, sliding sunroof. A solar glass windscreen and gloss black roof rails feature right across the range.

The Kia EV3 colours run from standard White Pearl through premium Sunset Orange, Midnight Black, Lithium Silver, Frost Blue, Shale Grey and Pistachio Green. Of these, Pistachio Green arguably suits the EV3 best, its soft tone playing off the black cladding and lighting signatures, though it is reserved for GT-Line and GT-Line S.

Kia EV3 Specifics and Trims

Vertu offers the Kia EV3 in three grades, Air, GT-Line and GT-Line S, each building on the one below. Even entry-level Air arrives well equipped, with heated front seats, a heated steering wheel, LED headlights, the twin 12.3-inch displays and a full suite of driver assistance as standard.

GT-Line adds sportier styling and everyday convenience, while GT-Line S steps up to flagship comfort and parking technology. The table below sets out the key Kia EV3 spec and features across the range, from lighting and comfort to technology and safety.

The Kia EV3 GT-Line S with the optional heat pump returns up to 361 miles combined (WLTP). All range, efficiency and charging figures are WLTP estimates and vary with driving style, temperature, terrain and use of on-board systems. The EV3 produces zero tailpipe emissions whilst driving. Maximum DC charging speeds require a 400-volt charger rated at 150kW or more.

Kia EV3 GT Trim - Early Data
