Designed to make an impression, the newly released BMW Motorrad Vision K18 concept bike is finally here.

The Vision K18 is built around a huge 1,800cc inline six-cylinder engine, which BMW has made the star of the show. The whole bike design highlights the engine, giving the K18 a stretched-out look that looks and feels powerful without trying too hard. BMW says that the design was inspired by high-speed aircraft, like the notorious and incredible Concorde. Even standing still, the bike looks ready to run.

There are plenty of details for riders to appreciate. The K18 features six intake tubes, six tailpipes and six headlights, all a nod to the six-cylinders at its heart. Hand-finished aluminium panels and carbon details give the K18 a distinctly premium look, while its adjustable suspension and active cooling systems back up the styling with perfect engineering choices.

While the Vision K18 isn’t headed for production quite yet, it gives a good idea of where BMW Motorrad could be going with its touring bikes. The mix of comfort, performance and bold design feels modern, without losing the character that BMW’s big six-cylinder bikes are known for.
