Honda CR-V named 4x4 of the Year

The Honda CR-V sports utility vehicle has been crowned as Total 4x4 Magazine's 4x4 of the Year, the car's first award since hitting dealerships across the UK two months ago.

In order to clinch the prize, the Honda CR-V was first pitted against a collection of its rivals in the 'Medium SUV' category by the much-loved motoring publication. However, the Japanese car came out of the contest with flying colours before excelling to clinch the 'best of the best' title.

In fact, the Honda CR-V impressed Total 4x4 Magazine's judging panel in every area analysed, from its interior quality to its level of ride comfort and unrivalled practicality.

Alan Kidd, editor of Total 4x4 Magazine, simply stated: “Never before have there been so many likely candidates for the overall title. However, from the moment we started crawling around inside the CR-V, it was clear Honda had hit the jackpot.

"The quality of its interior is on a par with the best, and its flexibility is exceptional – and that was before we actually drove it.”

Upon receiving the award, Dave Hodgetts, managing director of Honda, underlined that the CR-V's triumph is "a real festive treat for everyone and a fantastic way to end the year".
