Honda Reveals The All-New 2021 CR-V

This week, Honda UK has announced details of the revised and updated 2021 CR-V Hybrid, which will now only be available as a hybrid.

To align more clearly with Honda’s other e:TECHNOLOGY vehicles, the new CR-V has been tweaked and restyled from the inside, out. But what is new exactly?

Safety

The 2021 CR-V is set to offer world-class levels of safety – keeping all occupants as safe as possible, on and off-road.

Honda UK has a ‘Safety for Everyone’ philosophy. As a result, the 2021 CR-V's impressive suite of passive and active safety systems will be available as standard for all variants.

The Honda Sensing package is among the most comprehensive suites of active safety and driver-assistive technologies in the class, combining radar and camera information to assist you when you’re driving.

State-of-the-art Honda safety also includes the CR-V’s platform design, which incorporates the brand’s exclusive next-generation ‘ACE (Advanced Compatibility Engineering) body structure design technology’.

What this does is, it uses a network of connected structural elements to distribute a crash’s impact more evenly, if there was one. The CR-V does what it can do protect you, even in situations beyond its control.

Appearance

The 2021 Honda CR-V has been completely refreshed, ensuring it will always look as good on your driveway as it does on the open road.

Updates include a new 18-inch alloy wheel design for all grades and privacy glass from SE models upwards.

Inside the new CR-V, there are now new silver finishes applied to key visual elements on the centre console, doors cards and dashboard accents.

The range topping EX grade CR-V additionally features wireless smartphone charging, for improved seamless connectivity. Honda are keep to help your stay connected, whenever and wherever you go.

Performance

The popular midsized SUV is built around Honda’s intelligent i-MMD system for exceptional levels of efficiency and refinement.

All 2021 models will feature blue-ringed ‘H’ badges and an ‘e:HEV’ signature on the back, to highlight the CR-V’s electrified powertrain.

Mechanically, the CR-V retains Honda's responsive and highly efficient advanced hybrid technology. The powertrain is built around two electric motors, an Atkinson-cycle petrol engine, and an innovative fixed-gear transmission.

On the WLTP combined cycle, the CR-V’s fuel-efficient hybrid system produces CO2 emissions of just 151g/km and fuel economy of 42.2mpg on front-wheel drive models, and 161g/km and 39.2mpg for all-wheel drive models.

That means you’ll still get the CR-V’s iconic SUV capability, presence and strength, but with lower running costs, fewer carbon emissions and less trips to the pump.
