The all-new Nissan LEAF has bagged the prestigious Editor’s Choice Award at this year’s Autotrader Drivers’ Choice Awards.

One of the awards’ most sought after titles, the Editor’s Choice gong celebrates the model that has stood out above all others in the eyes of Autrotrader’s editorial team over the past year.

A major early pioneer of the electric car movement, the Nissan LEAF first debuted in 2010 as one of the first mainstream EVs to hit the market and has gone on to sell more than 700,000 units worldwide.

Sixteen years later, the Nissan LEAF is now in its third generation and brings together the company’s indispensable experience to develop the latest model, which is built at the firm’s Sunderland plant in the UK.

As well as offering range of up to 386-miles, the LEAF features Google built-in, a dimming panoramic roof, 3D tail-light design and flush-mounted door handles.

Coming with the full Electric Car Grant of £3,750, the LEAF starts at £32,249* for the 75kWh model.

Erin Baker, Editorial Director at Autotrader, says: “The Nissan LEAF has been at the forefront of the electric revolution for more than a decade.

“It is quite simply a legend, and this latest version blends comfort, range and technology into a stylish package while also boasting massive sustainability credentials.

“We love the satisfying handling, smart interior design and curved touchscreen. Best of all, the new LEAF is assembled in Sunderland with 20 per cent renewable energy and the rest offset.

“It not only supports the British economy, but shrinks its carbon footprint further, making it one of the greenest cars you can buy in the UK. A legend indeed.’’
