The Audi Q2 Has Been Refreshed For 2020

Audi’s smallest SUV, the Q2, has been given a slight facelift before the end of this year.

Subtle styling tweaks inside and out, plus improved on-board technology keep the Audi Q2 fresh against its rivals.

Said to be priced from around £23,500 and available to order from October, the Q2 has been restyled with a ‘purposeful, confident stance’.

At the front, the single-frame grille is now set lower to give a wider and bolder impression. It also now features a new polygon motif, that’s mirrored in the shape of the new rear diffuser insert.

The front air intakes have also been reshaped, while higher-spec models gain three narrow slits between the bonnet and the grille, which Audi have said is inspired by its legendary Quattro rally car.

As with the larger Q5, the Q2’s facelift means new LED headlights as standard.

Top-rung Vorsprung Q2s are upgraded with Matrix LED technology, which is said to produce ‘an intelligently controlled high beam light without dazzling other road users’, and gain dynamic rear indicators.

The interior of the all-new Q2 gains a new gearstick - for both manual and automatic versions - as well as redesigned air vents and new material options. The new 2020 Q2 is also now equipped with four-way adjustable front seats, as standard as well.

Fitted as standard on all upcoming Q2 models - including the entry-level Technik trim - are an Electronic boot door, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity, Rear Parking Sensors and Cruise Control.

The Q2 Sport, S Line and Black Edition models will offer a 12.3-inch digital instrument display and an 8.3-inch infotainment touchscreen, which can also be controlled through a rotary controller or voice recognition functionality. These variants will also get sports front seats and a driving mode selector.

Additionally, equipped as standard on the Sport trim plus higher models is Audi’s latest-generation MMI Navigation Plus software, which offers live traffic, weather and fuel pricing information, as well as emergency call and remote locking functions.

The all-new Q2 Black Edition will further provide a black exterior trim styling package, as well as bespoke 19-inch Alloy Wheels, whilst the top-rung Vorsprung variant is set to gain Adaptive Sport Suspension, a rear-view camera and advanced Safety Assistance features.

Just one engine will be available at launch: a turbocharged 1.5-litre four-cylinder petrol with 148bhp and 184lb ft. It can be specified with a six-speed manual or seven-speed automatic gearbox.

Additional petrol and diesel engines - all of which comply with Euro 6 emissions regulations - will be introduced by the end of the year, with some offering four-wheel drive.
