Every EV4 uses a single front-mounted motor producing 201bhp and 283Nm of torque, paired with a choice of two battery sizes. The entry Air SR runs a 58.3kWh battery for up to 273 miles, and the 81.4kWh battery lifts that to as much as 388 miles on the Air and Motion (WLTP combined).

That 388-mile figure matters most to drivers covering longer distances between charges, and the Motion is the clever pick here. It keeps the efficient 17-inch wheels of the Air, so it holds the full 388-mile range while adding equipment the Air does without. Choose the 19-inch GT-Line trims and the range settles at 362 miles, a fair trade for the sportier look.

The fastback takes those same GT-Line and GT-Line S trims and stretches them over a longer, sleeker body, giving up to 380 miles and a bigger boot. That is a rare thing in the compact electric class, where a second body style is almost unheard of.

Kia's 'Opposites United' design language gives the EV4 vertical headlights pushed to the outer edges and a low, clean nose the brand calls its EV Tiger Face. The hatchback keeps a compact 4,430mm footprint (4,450mm on GT-Line trims), while the fastback stretches to 4,730mm for a longer, coupe-like profile.

Underneath that styling sit two wheel choices. The Air and Motion ride on 17-inch alloys tuned for efficiency and range, while GT-Line and GT-Line S step up to 19-inch GT-Line alloys with gloss black detailing that sharpens the car's stance.

Colours set the two bodies apart, and they do not share a palette, so the choice starts with the body style. The hatchback offers Fusion White as standard with Phantom Black, Magma Red and Blue Flame above it, plus Wolf Grey reserved for the GT-Line trims. The fastback swaps to its own range led by White Pearl, with Moonlight Mint arguably the shade that best suits its flowing shape.

The fastback earns its name at the rear, where a sculpted dual spoiler flows from the roofline and vertical LED tail lights stretch across a longer tail. Both bodies gain a rear spoiler and flush or automatic flush door handles that cut drag and lift efficiency.
