BBL and WBBL 22/23 Season Set to Tip Off This Month
The new 22/23 BBL and WBBL season is set to kick off this month at the Vertu Motors Arena.
Newcastle Eagles are set to play their first home game of the BBL (British Basketball League) championship against Manchester Giants on Friday 30th September at the Vertu Motors Arena.
Ahead of the new season Newcastle Eagles this week announced a raft of new faces to the BBL team including Javion Hamlet, who previously played for the Texas Legends, and former Florida Gators guard, Brandon McKissic.
It was also announced that BBL’s most decorated player, Darius Defoe is returning for his 19th season with the team.
Newcastle Eagles WBBL (Women’s British Basketball League) team will tip off the 22/23 championship on Friday 23rd September against Caledonia Gladiators, with their first home match a week later on Saturday 1st October against Nottingham Wildcats.
New faces to the team include Katie Nolan, who is one of college basketball’s most sought-after players, and Courtney Classen who joined the club last season will be returning for the 22/23 season.
