The BMW iX1 and BMW iX2 have become the latest EVs to become eligible for the Electric Car Grant (ECG), a move that makes them cheaper than their ICE (internal combustion engine) equivalent models.
The first models from the German marque to be included in the UK government scheme, both the eDrive20 variants of the iX1 and iX2 are eligible for the full Band 1 grant of £3,750 off the list price.
It means the entry-point to both the iX1 and iX2range – the BMW iX1 eDrive20 Sport and the BMW iX2 eDrive20 – come in with a starting price of just £33,315* each.
The significant cost cut means both models are now more affordable than their petrol-powered equivalents (the X1 and X2) to make the switch to both a premium brand and electric power substantially more attractive.
For that, you get a 66.5kWh battery capable of up to 320-miles of range (WLTP combined), not to mention the keen dynamics and excellent build quality synonymous with BMWs.
