Burnley Beaten In Crucial Everton Game

Former manager Sean Dyche returned to Turf Moor to grab three points as Burnley were beaten by Everton in a crunch game at the bottom of the Premier League table.

Burnley went into the game having picked up a point from a battling performance away at Brighton, and having taken four points from the previous three games after an impressive victory against Sheffield United.

With Everton directly ahead in the table, the final game before the busy festive period took on added importance – with Burnley looking for a win to try and move closer to safety

Everton however grabbed the lead when Amadou Onana nodded in a corner after 20 minutes and then moved two clear five minutes later when former Burnley man Michael Keane knocked in a rebound to make it 2-0.

Having struggled to create chances in the first half, Burnley improved after the break but were unable to find a way back into the match and now prepare for a vital festive period that kicks off with a trip to Fulham this weekend before Liverpool visit Turf Moor.
