Design
The all-new Volkswagen Polo GTI has been thoroughly revamped; from lights to its bumper, it sports a fresh new look.
The new Polo GTI resembles the latest Golf GTI. From the front, you’ll notice new IQ.Light Matrix LED headlights, a new light bar stretching the full width of the grille, plus the bumper itself has been given a total redesign as well, including a new illuminated red GTI strip.
At the rear, the all-new Polo’s brake lights’ shape has been enhanced and come with LED technology as standard.
The all-new Polo GTI comes with a choice of 17- or 18-inch alloys, with new designs available across the range.
Interior
The interior of the all-new Polo GTI has been refreshed too, with a few enhancements that set it a part from the last model.
Inside the Polo GTI, expect a new steering wheel with added touch-sensitive buttons, along with a 10.25-inch digital driver’s display fitted as standard.
Climate control settings are now integrated within the infotainment system, giving the cabin a sleeker and more modern look.
If desired, the option to have a panoramic roof, a Beats sounds system and wireless phone charging are available.
The Polo GTI’s innovative infotainment system supports Android Auto and Apple CarPlay.
Performance
The all-new VW Polo GTI is even more confident than the last model.
Although it’ll still be powered by a 2.0-litre turbocharged four-cylinder engine, Volkswagen have ensured a boost in power to 207hp (up from 200hp), as well as 320Nm of torque.
This power will be pushed to the front wheels through a seven-speed dual-clutch gearbox, allowing it to sprint 0-60mph in just 6.5 seconds. The all-new Polo GTI will certainly be worthy of the 'hot-hatch' name.
Technology and Safety
The refreshed Volkswagen Polo GTI houses the brand’s all-new IQ.DRIVE Travel Assist technology, keeping it safer and smarter on the road than ever before.
This is a system that allows the car to take control of acceleration, braking and steering when on motorways. It’ll even work at speeds of up to 130mph.
Also fitted to the new Volkswagen Polo GTI as standard are automatic emergency braking and lane-keeping assistance. Many other driver assistance systems which automatically look out for and avoid possible dangers are also available with the new Polo GTI.
Like the last Polo, the reborn GTI model is expected to earn top marks in its Euro NCAP safety tests.
Prices for the all-new Volkswagen Polo will start from around £25,000, with orders set to open late 2021.
