Last year marked the 25th anniversary of smart and what a year it was. The smart #1 enjoyed success at the What Car? Electric Car Awards, winning the Best Small SUV award.
The panel of judges commended the smart #1 for its spacious interior, superior build quality, and fast charging.
Steve Huntingford, What Car? Editor said: “The #1 is a lot more spacious than its compact length might lead you to believe, plus its elegantly styled interior is beautifully made. Long distance comfort is further enhanced by an impressively smooth high-speed ride and class-leading refinement. And the #1 is both quick to accelerate and quick to charge.”
It follows hot on the heels of being awarded a five-star What Car? Rating. As well as being awarded first-in-class and second overall in the What Car? Safety Awards.
The smart #1 was also highly commended in the Urban Living and Outstanding EV categories in the 2024 Carwow Car of the Year awards.
Last year also saw the highly anticipated release of the smart #3. In 2022, smart re-launched as an electric mobility brand, with smart #1 being the first model announced.

Smart #1
The smart #1 is a stylish all-electric crossover SUV that’s ready for your next adventure. Whether that’s heading on the school run or a weekend getaway – you can do it in style.
Enjoy an impressive range of up to 273 miles (WLTP) and fast charging times from 10-80% in 30 minutes (using a 150Kw DC). Beyond its distinctive looks, it’s packed with clever design features.
Three lines are available Pro+, Premium, and BRABUS.

Smart #3
The sporty smart #3 was announced earlier in 2023 and is set to hit the roads this year. With a strong, powerful design, it’s set to be a head-turner. With a maximum range of up to 283 miles (WLTP), charge the battery from 10-80% in 30 minutes (using a 150Kw DC charger).
Inside the interior, the performance look continues with tailored bucket seats. Four lines are available including Pro, Pro+, BRABUS, and Premium, as well as the 25th Anniversary Edition.
