The Toyota Yaris Cross hybrid has been given a mid-cycle facelift to bring it into line with the Japanese firm’s newest models including the latest RAV4.

One of manufacturer’s most significant models, the Yaris Cross small-SUV holds status as Toyota’s best-selling line across Europe, while it is also the marque’s most popular model in the UK too.

With a swathe of enticing new rivals arriving to challenge the Yaris Cross’ sales figures, Toyota has given the B-segment model a nip-and-tuck to bring it up to date.

Most of the changes can be found on the outside, with the Yaris Cross gaining a smoother front-profile and the integration of a hexagonal-patterned grille that bears resemblance to a similar design found on the latest RAV4 SUV and new Hilux pick-up truck.

While the rest of the chunky profile – which blends design cues from its Yaris hatchback namesake and the larger C-HR – remains broadly the same, the Yaris Cross does get new paint options (Precious Bronze and Persian Salt) and fresh 17 or 18-inch alloy wheel designs.

Inside, the well-built interior is also largely unchanged, through Design trim now features sports-style front seats, while upgrading to Excel gets you partial-leather trim and new SakuraTouch fabric inserts.

At the pinnacle of the range will be the Toyota Yaris Cross GR Sport, which gets exclusive exterior and interior features, plus retuned suspension for a more involving driving experience.

Under the skin, the Yaris Cross continues with the same Hybrid 130 powertrain that was revised as recently as 2024.

Designed to maximise efficiency and responsiveness, the FHEV powertrain (or self-charging hybrid, as Toyota refers to it) generates 129bhp and is capable of returning upwards of 60mpg.

Pricing for the updated Toyota Yaris Cross is yet to be announced, but the current range starts at £27,295*.
