Volkswagen delivers another exceptional Golf
Volkswagen's latest Golf is longer, wider, lower and spacious, making it one of the most distinct editions to ever go into production.
The model was launched 38 years ago and this latest version – 1.4 TSI 140 GT – is the seventh re-imagining of the popular car. The figures say it all: 29 million vehicles have been sold since then.
A much sleeker affair, the exterior is a sharp delivery in design, utilising creases along doors, bonnet and boot to their full potential.
Along with the distinct changes in the shape and length of the car – though it remains true to its original conception – the new Golf is also notable for its green credentials.
This is partly a result of the sheer amount of weight that has been cut from the car, which has provided it with a very low CO2 score of 112g/km.
Complemented with a lustrous interior – smart, functional and state-of-the-art – the six-speed gear-boxed Golf is a marked improvement on the sixth incarnation, which came out four years ago.
