New Skoda Cars at Vertu

Skoda UK's opening half of 2026 has been the strongest on record. 46,508 new registrations landed between January and June, the manufacturer's highest-ever H1 total, with average market share reaching 4.1%, its second-best half-year figure to date. The Enyaq range led the way, ahead of the Kodiaq and Elroq, and June alone pushed market share to 4.3%.

That momentum builds on more than a century of engineering. Skoda Auto traces its roots to 1895, when Vaclav Laurin and Vaclav Klement began building bicycles in Mlada Boleslav, and it has sat within the Volkswagen Group since 1991. At Vertu, our colleagues can talk you through the full range today and help you find the right new Skoda for your budget and daily drive.

Simply Clever is the idea Skoda builds every model around: practical touches like an ice scraper in the fuel filler cap or an umbrella tucked inside the driver's door. It shows up everywhere from the Fabia hatchback to the newest Skoda electric cars. It also helped the range collect three 2026 Auto Express New Car Awards. The Elroq took Mid-size SUV of the Year, the Kodiaq took Large SUV of the Year for the seventh time in nine years, and the Superb Estate took Estate Car of the Year.

What Are Skoda Cars Like to Drive?

Every Skoda in the current UK line-up fits one of three groups. Hatchbacks and estates cover everyday distance, family SUVs cover space, and an all-electric range leads on technology.

Hatchbacks & Estates

The Fabia and Scala anchor the hatchback line-up on practicality: the Fabia's boot holds 380 litres, while the Scala's boot, at 467 litres, ranks among the largest in its class. Move up to the Octavia and you get what Skoda positions as the ultimate all-rounder, available as Hatch or Estate and backed by a 5-star Euro NCAP rating with up to ten airbags. The Superb tops the group as the long-distance choice, with the broadest engine choice in the range, from mild-hybrid petrol through to the 265PS vRS. Its Estate boot runs to 690 litres, 1,920 litres with the rear seats folded.

Family SUVs

Kamiq, Karoq and Kodiaq cover the SUV side of the range, each stepping up in size. The Kamiq brings bold, playful styling to a compact footprint, with Matrix LED headlights on Monte Carlo Edition and a 400-litre boot. The Karoq adds Skoda's Simply Clever storage touches, from a Jumbo Box console to fold-out cargo nets, with four-wheel drive available on its 2.0 TDI and 2.0 TSI engines. The Kodiaq sits at the top as the practicality flagship, with up to 2,105 litres of boot space with the rear seats folded, five or seven seats, and a new plug-in hybrid option.

All-Electric Range

Skoda's electric range is led today by the Elroq and Enyaq, with Epiq and Peaq arriving to widen it further. The Elroq is Skoda's compact electric SUV, and one of its most popular EVs, with a WLTP electric range of up to 370 miles and a 21-litre frunk alongside its usual boot. The Enyaq, offered as an SUV or a lower, more aerodynamic Coupe, is the brand's electric halo model. It reaches up to 373 miles of WLTP range on rear-wheel-drive variants, with dual-motor four-wheel drive available on vRS and 85x models. Both are joined soon by the Epiq, a compact and accessible Skoda electric car with up to 270 miles of range. The Peaq follows as Skoda's largest-ever model, a seven-seat electric SUV with up to 395 miles of range, due from late 2027.

Skoda's Powertrain Range

Skoda spreads its engineering across five distinct powertrain types rather than picking one route to efficiency, so the right option depends on how and how far you drive. The table below breaks down how each works and who it suits best.

Powertrain How It Works Best For
Petrol Turbocharged TSI petrol engines, ranging from the 1.0 TSI in the Fabia and Scala to the 2.0 TSI in vRS models. No plugging in required. Drivers wanting straightforward performance without electrification
Mild-Hybrid (e-TEC) A 48V mild-hybrid system pairs a TSI petrol engine with a small electric assist, recovering energy under braking to improve efficiency without needing to plug in. Fitted across Octavia, Kodiaq and Superb. Drivers wanting improved efficiency with zero change to their routine
Diesel TDI turbodiesel engines fitted across Karoq, Kodiaq, Octavia and Superb, suited to higher-mileage and motorway-heavy driving. High-mileage drivers prioritising fuel economy on long journeys
Plug-in Hybrid (iV) Combines a TSI petrol engine with a larger battery you charge at home or publicly, unlocking pure-electric driving for short trips with petrol range in reserve. Available on Kodiaq (up to 76 miles electric range) and Superb (over 70 miles). Commuters wanting electric-only short trips with petrol back-up for longer journeys
Electric Full battery power across Elroq and Enyaq today, soon joined by Epiq and Peaq, producing zero tailpipe emissions whilst driving and supporting rapid DC charging. Drivers ready to go fully electric with home or public charging access

Skoda Interior and Technology

You get Simply Clever design paired with genuinely useful technology in every current Skoda, whichever model you choose. The MySkoda App and Skoda Connect keep you informed from outside the car, covering vehicle status, remote lock and unlock, and live traffic updates. Inside, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto come fitted as standard on most models, and the Virtual Pedal lets you open the boot with a kick of your foot when your hands are full. Front Assist and Lane Assist are standard from entry trim on most models, with Adaptive Cruise Control added from mid-tier trims upward on several. The Kodiaq and Superb both add customisable Smart Dials as standard, physical dials you can turn to adjust temperature, seat heating or driving mode. Ambient lighting features on higher trims, and the Kodiaq's L&K and vRS grades add a CANTON sound system.

Every Skoda EV builds on that with its own practical extras. Elroq and Enyaq both add a front 'frunk', a second boot under the bonnet, and support Vehicle-to-Load charging on higher trims, letting the car's battery run tools or a laptop directly. Their full-colour Digital Cockpit swaps between navigation, driver assistance and range views at the press of a button, and the same technology carries through to the upcoming Epiq and Peaq.
