Get To Know The Refreshed 2020 Toyota Land Cruiser
From technology to performance, Toyota have revamped their Land Cruiser SUV for 2020. It now comes more streamlined, with better power and efficiency.
The newly refreshed Toyota Land Cruiser now comes with a turbocharged 2.8-litre four-cylinder diesel engine, the same one that was recently added to the Land Cruiser’s Hilux pick-up truck sibling.
This raises the Toyota Land Cruiser’s power from 174bhp to 201bhp and torque from 331lb ft to 369lb ft.
This newfound acceleration cuts the Land Cruiser’s 0-62mph time by as much as 2.8-seconds, depending on specification.
Despite this impressive power, fuel economy has also been improved. To aid fuel economy, Stop-Start functionality has now been fitted as standard across the range.
Additionally, the new engine is ‘RDE2-compliant’ so qualifies for a lower tax rating than its predecessor, meaning buyers of the refreshed Land Cruiser can save £325 in the first year of ownership.
As well as the new engine, the next Land Cruiser comes with an overhauled trim level structure, including two new equipment grades each for the standard car and the two-seat Commercial variant.
The passenger car range begins as before, with Active, which is available with a choice of three or five doors and five or seven seats. Priced from £40,600, it’s equipped with an 8.0-inch touchscreen, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity, 17-inch Alloy Wheels, Keyless Entry and Heated Wing Mirrors - all as standard.
Prices rise slightly for the Invincible variant, which is available exclusively in five-door, with seven-seats available. Its equipment includes Tri-Zone Climate Control, Heated and Ventilated front seats, a Rear Differential Lock, a Terrain Selector, Crawl Control and Adaptive Variable Suspension – all as standard.
The Invincible can also be specified with the optional Black Pack, which adds Black Grilles, Mirror Casings, Light Surrounds and Side Mouldings, as well as Clear Lenses at the rear.
In addition, Toyota has also upgraded the Land Cruiser’s advanced driver assistance functions, helping to take care of everyone on-board with ease.
The all-new Toyota Land Cruiser’s Pre-Collision Warning System will detect pedestrians and cyclists, while Adaptive Cruise Control and Lane-Keeping Assistance are now standard. The infotainment system has been upgraded too, now offering a customisable homepage and responding more quickly to any inputs.
