The Hyundai KONA Electric has been upgraded to the full Band 1 Electric Car Grant of £3,750, bringing about significant savings for one of the UK’s most popular SUVs.
Previously the KONA Electric’s ECG eligibility was limited to a Band 2 discount of £1,500 but a successful review of the KONA Electric’s supply chain and manufacturing process has earned it full status.
The KONA Electric becomes the 11th new car to receive the Band 1 ECG of £3,750, joining the likes of the Ford Puma Gen-E and Nissan MICRA 52kWh in receiving a substantial saving.
It should serve to further boost the appeal of the SUV, which is established as one of Europe’s best-selling electric SUVs.
Practical, generously equipped and refined to drive, the KONA Electric features a 65.4kWh battery capable of up to 319-miles of range (WLTP) in Advance trim, while also offering a 466-litre boot and distinctive contemporary styling.
