Range Rover has revealed its second all-new, all-electric model in little more than a month with the unveiling of the Range Rover Sport Electric.
Following on from the Range Rover Electric – which will herald the first fully BEV (Battery Electric Vehicle) that the manufacturer has ever produced – the firm’s more dynamic offering has now received the EV treatment too.
Pitched as a more engaging zero emission offering to rival the new BMW iX5 and Mercedes EQE, the Range Rover Sport Electric will hit the road priced from £109,810 for deliveries beginning early in 2027.
As with its sibling, the Range Rover Sport Electric receives the same 118.5kWh battery and associated hardware, which comprises 300 patents within the cutting-edge technology under the skin.
However, Range Rover is promising a ‘more dynamic’ SUV feel for the Range Rover Sport, compared with the Range Rover Electric, to help differentiate between the two.
As a result of this, the Sport is stiffer than its sibling – in part thanks to the battery being bolted between the wheels – while the Sport Electric’s centre of gravity has been reduced by 73mm and the weight redistributed to err towards a more engaging driving experience.
The Sport also gets its own electro-hydraulic Active Roll Control (e-ARC) to sharpen the handling performance, alongside dual-chamber air suspension and twin-active Bilstein dampers.
Power is rated at a total of 542bhp in Dynamic mode, reduced to 493bhp in Comfort mode and 276bhp in battery-saving Eco mode, while 0-62mph can be completed in a brisk 4.5secs.
While these figures put this zero-emission model into a similar league as the petrol-powered V8 model in terms of performance, the Range Rover Sport Electric will still return impressive range of up to 374-miles (WLTP combined), while rapid recharging from 10-80 per cent will take just 22-minutes.
Despite all the change under the skin, the Range Rover Sport Electric doesn’t shout about its frugal credentials on the outside with a largely unchanged exterior and interior design still featuring all the signature design traits of the standard model. In fact, the only hint of a different powertrain at a standstill is a subtly blanked-off front grille.
It will also sustain Range Rover’s reputation for uncompromising off-road ability, with the manufacturer claiming prototypes tackled steep 45-degree ascents, extreme temperat
The Range Rover Sport Electric will start from just over £109,000 for the entry-level Dynamic SE, rising to £122,780 for the Autobiography trim and £126,290 for the First Edition.
