The Renault Scenic E-Tech electric SUV has become the latest car to be issued the full Electric Car Grant, slashing £3,750 off its UK starting price.

The model had been available with a £1,500 discount following the implementation of the grant scheme in August 2025, but a successful demonstration of the Renault Scenic E-Tech’s sustainable construction process has seen this upgraded to the full £3,750.

It means the Scenic E-Tech range now starts at £33,245 for the entry-level tecno trim with the full grant applied, rising to £38,245 for the flagship iconic esprit Alpine trim*.

The Scenic E-Tech becomes the third Renault to receive the full grant, alongside the Renault 5 (52kWh) and Renault 4. The Renault 5 (40kWh) and Renault Megane are currently offered with a £1,500 discount.

The reclassification has been made possible by Renault demonstrating its 100 % renewable energy use for the production of batteries at its supplier’s plant in Poland. The batteries are then added to the production line in Renault’s Douai factory in France.

The Electric Car Grant stipulates that a manufacturer must meet a range of different sustainability criteria throughout a model’s production process – including battery sourcing – in order to qualify for the full ECG.

The Renault Scenic E-Tech has received a plethora of awards since it went on sale in 2023, including 2024 European Car of the Year.
