The Ford Puma has led Britain's small-SUV sales charts for years, which is exactly what makes it so rewarding to buy used: a wide, steady supply of cars across every trim and powertrain. Buy one second hand and the badge alone won't settle what you drive away in, because a single nameplate now spans three genuinely different cars.
Practicality is the constant beneath all of them. Every petrol Puma carries the Ford MegaBox, a deep, washable well under the boot floor that takes total luggage space to 456 litres. It has a drain plug for muddy kit, and a lid that conceals it for a flat load floor when you prefer one.
Those three characters are where a used purchase pays off. The everyday choice is the 1.0-litre EcoBoost mild-hybrid petrol, in 125PS or 155PS form. Above it sits the Puma ST, whose earlier 200PS version is now almost purely a used proposition. Newest of all is the all-electric Ford Puma Gen-E, which brings zero tailpipe emissions to the range.
One note before the detail below. The specifications and figures in this guide describe recent Ford Puma models, and earlier examples or discontinued trims may differ. Each vehicle listing carries the recorded detail for that specific car.
The case for a used Ford Puma rests on what age leaves untouched. The MegaBox, the raised driving position and the sharp styling are the same on a three-year-old car as on a new one, so an earlier owner absorbs the steepest depreciation while you keep the substance.
That value comes with real cover behind it. Every petrol Puma leaves the factory with a three-year, 60,000-mile Ford warranty plus a year of Ford Assistance. A car still inside that window carries the balance, backed by Vertu's own preparation before it reaches the forecourt. The all-electric Gen-E adds a separate eight-year, 100,000-mile high-voltage battery warranty, which transfers between owners.
Running costs stay modest because the petrol engines are mild hybrids. A 48-volt system recovers energy as you slow and feeds it back under acceleration, easing the load on the engine in the stop-start traffic where a small SUV usually drinks most. The 125PS manual returns up to 52.3mpg on the WLTP combined cycle.
Want to see how it drives before choosing a used example? Our Ford Puma review sits above, walking through the cabin, the MegaBox boot and the trims you'll find on the used market.
The Puma's used line-up runs from frugal mild-hybrid petrols to a performance ST and a full electric model. The table below sets out the powertrain, economy and charging figures for each.

*The current Puma ST is a 170PS mild-hybrid automatic. Used ST stock is mostly the 2020 to 2024 version: a 1.5-litre EcoBoost with 200PS, 320Nm, a six-speed manual, 0-62mph in 6.7 seconds and a 137mph top speed (Ford figures). Each listing confirms the engine of a given car. A cross (✗) marks a figure that does not apply to that powertrain.
In practice the split is clean. The 125PS suits town and shorter runs, the 155PS adds motorway ease, and the Gen-E makes sense for city drivers who can charge at home. The ST stands apart as the driver's Puma.
Trim decides how much technology and comfort equipment a used Puma carries, and this table covers both the petrol grades and the all-electric Gen-E in one place. Reading left to right, the four petrol grades run from Titanium to ST, followed by the three Gen-E grades from Select to BlueCruise Edition. The features reflect the recent, post-facelift range, and a cross marks equipment not fitted to that grade.
| Feature | Titanium | ST-Line | ST-Line X | ST | Gen-E Select | Gen-E Premium | Gen-E BlueCruise Ed. |
