The all-new LEAF is the third generation of the car, proudly built at Nissan’s world-class EV manufacturing site in Sunderland, and now available to book and test drive in Vertu Nissan showrooms.
The trailblazing Nissan LEAF revolutionised the automotive industry when it first launched in 2010, proving that fully electric, zero emission family cars could be mainstream. After breaking global milestones with its original launch, the all new LEAF continues to push forward with a futuristic design, increased range and state-of-the-art features for everyday electric mobility.
Since the new LEAF’s launch, it has received excellent reviews and a vast array of awards, even being crowned Car of The Year 2026 by Auto Express, Women’s Worldwide Car of the Year, The Sun, as well as receiving the Editor’s Choice award from Autotrader.
The LEAF has truly grown into itself with this latest iteration, becoming a sharper, more mature couple-style SUV crossover with a taller, more confident stance. Its swooping silhouette is designed with efficiency in mind, ready to carve through the air and minimise drag. Unique and eye-catching design aspects such as the sporty ducktail spoiler and distinctive taillights make playful references to Nissan and its previous cars, while giving the LEAF a real standout appearance.
The cabin inside is as equally well considered as the exterior, with a sharp, clean and simplistic appearance paired with buttons on the steering wheel, meaning you barely need to reach out to touch the infotainment screen.
The infotainment system itself is helpfully loaded with Google-based navigation and an EV-route planner for efficient charging stops, considering real-time traffic, charger types, availability, as well as controlling automatic battery preconditioning as you approach the stops. Spread across two 14.3-inch displays, the fully connected system offers a range of downloadable apps to keep the cabin personal, as well as all the essential features you require on hand.
The LEAF comes with two battery options, 52kWh for up to 270 miles of WLTP range, or the larger 75kWh for up to 375 miles WLTP. The drag coefficient is just 0.25, as a result of the aforementioned sleek design and flowing lines, as well as flush door handles and carefully sculpted surfaces.
Underneath the contoured shell, a 437-litre boot further adds to the practicality – this space can be accessed with a power tailgate, and expands to 1,580 litres with the rear seats folded. Space and practicality can be expanded even further with the availability of roof rails.
The LEAF also impresses in its everyday usability with intelligent driver assistance features and well-tuned suspension. Based on the same platform as the Nissan Ariya, the multi-link rear suspension allows for a far more comfortable ride, one that is efficient, balanced and controlled whether navigating city traffic or cruising long distances.
As for driver assistance, Nissan’s impressive ProPILOT Assist is available on the LEAF, supporting the driver through semi-autonomous driving for both long journeys, as well as acceleration and distance control in heavy traffic, reducing stress, panic and fatigue.
You can try these advanced systems, explore the infotainment system, compare cargo sizes and take a test drive along your usual routes at your local Vertu Nissan showroom.
