The boldest display of Omoda’s “Cyber Mecha” design language yet, the new Omoda 4 places individuality and self-expression at the heart of the design.
Smaller, sharper and sportier than its close relation, the Jaecoo 5, this angular and aggressive design is one to rival the upcoming Nissan Juke. An aggressive face, angular wheel arches and bold lines draw the eye along the entire body of the car, while striking lightning bolt-inspired LEDs at the front and rear finish off the look.
The Omoda 4 will be the first model in the range to feature the new Super Intelligent Cockpit, modelled after a starship’s cockpit. This includes a fighter jet-styled start button, requiring a cover to be flipped up, not too dissimilar to the one seen on a Lamborghini Urus.
Underneath the angular shell will likely lie Omoda’s (Self-Charging Hybrid) SHS-H powertrain, already available in the Omoda 5 and Jaecoo 7. This will use a 1.5-litre turbocharged four-cylinder engine, paired with a small electric motor and a 1.83 kWh battery pack.
Power in the Omoda goes to the front wheels via a custom-engineered, dedicated hybrid transmission (DHT), an automatic gearbox designed by Chery, Omoda’s parent group.
The first Omoda 4 will be a full hybrid car, but a pure-electric alternative is very likely to follow. While pricing isn’t confirmed, it is expected to hit showrooms in 2027. In the meantime, check out the rest of the Omoda range at Vertu.
