Volkswagen has confirmed pricing for the all-new, all-electric Volkswagen ID. Polo hatchback with the line-up due to kick off from £25,555* at launch.
For now, the ID. Polo will be available in limited-edition launch specials, with more affordable trims being added later down the line that will reduce the starting price to £23,495.
The ID. Polo hits Vertu Volkswagen showrooms in September and will begin with the ID. Polo Life Launch Edition, which offers just over 200-miles of range from its 37kWh battery.
Opt for the larger 52kWh battery in the same trim level and range improves to 281-miles, making it more durable than the top-of-the-range Renault 5 by some 30-miles.
This battery also qualifies for the £1,500 Electric Car Grant, so the 52kWh Life Launch Edition is priced at £26,830.
For that, standard kit across both models includes a 10-inch digital driver’s display, a 12.9-inch touchscreen, Apple CarPlay/Android Auto compatibility, LED headlights, fabric upholstery, a reversing camera and adaptive cruise control.
A 52kWh ID. Polo Style Launch Edition is also going to be offered from September priced at £31,495 and includes ambient lighting, heated front seats, a heated steering wheel and matrix LED headlights.
The ID. Polo is considered to be one of the most important launches of 2026 as a new, more affordable entry point into Volkswagen’s ID range of electric models.
Originally set to be called ID.2, in line with previous electric offerings like the ID.3 and ID.4, the decision was made to align the model with the conventional Polo in design and awareness, even if the two models share very little mechanically.
The ID. Polo is one of three Volkswagen Group models being launched on the same platform, alongside the sporty CUPRA Raval and the SUV-inspired Skoda Epiq.
